Opening Session and Welcome to Leiden

What to Expect from KTOs
KTOs act as an interface between universities/PROs and the innovation ecosystem connecting with industry, SMEs, investors and other stakeholders. Managing intellectual property also means finding a balance between the interests of academics and the mission of the university. In this session, we would like to visualize and discuss this balancing act that requires skill, luck and creativity. What expectations do clients and stakeholders have of the KTO? Is there a risk that different expectations give a difficult, if not impossible, set of demands? How do these expectations match the mission and vision of the university? What is the strategic development of the Knowledge Transfer function in a long-term perspective?
These questions, and many more, will be addressed by our professional panel.
