Track II: Legal Update
The recent EU Know-how Directive introduced a specific definition and protection of trade secrets, aimed at promoting investment in acquisitions, and the use and valorization of know-how.
While many private companies build their business model on secret know-how, universities and public research organisations, which have dissemination of knowledge as a core mission, are ill prepared to deal with know-how. Are there best practices to share and pitfalls to avoid?
This workshop will provide an overview of the legal situation, then elaborate on the terms and conditions for licensing or transferring know-how.
