Gabriel Clerc

Gabriel worked as a mechanical engineer at EPFL, Switzerland, specializing in applied thermodynamics and turbo-machinery. A R&D engineer in the central R&D department of SULZER Co, Switzerland and was for nine years active in the field of aeronautics as experimental test pilot for the Swiss department of defense.

A staff member of research directorate at EPFL since 1988 and Head of the Technology Transfer Office of EPFL (EPFL-TTO) since its creation in 1998 until 2018, Gabriel is currently the senior advisor at the Presidency of EPFL, mainly for IP and TT matters.

The EPFL-TTO protects, manages and licenses EPFL intellectual property and is responsible for negotiation and approval of collaboration agreements with industrial partners. The TTO also manages the relationships between EPFL and its numerous start-up/spin-out companies.

Gabriel is also co-founder and past president of the Swiss Technology Transfer Association (swiTT) and member of AUTM and ASTP associations.
